Peripatetic – from peri- “around” + patein “to walk.”
A follower of Aristotle or an adherent of Aristotelianism.
Aristotle’s custom was to teach while strolling through the Lyceum in Athens.
Also, as an adjective “peripatetic” means “given to walking.”
Both definitions remind me that I wanted to ask: Mr. Bentham, have you ever gone on a walkabout, a vision quest, or any other type of spiritual journey?
